Appletime Luncheon

apples greeted all the guests!
A menu card and a quip about apples
were placed at each setting! Everybody loves the menu card and the quip encourages table talk!
This cute appletime luncheon was set for six
girlfriends who enjoyed the warm September temperatures on the deck! The tablescape was simple ... just a ring of autumn
leaves and apples around the umbrella pole in the center of the table. The placesettings were detailed, stacked
with a covered apple soup bowl on top! The Cambridge flatware is the "rooster" pattern and simple glassware
has an oldtime bar look. The straw placemats make a perfect neutral backdrop for the deep burgundy red colors.
Smoked pork tenderloin with apple BBQ sauce ... and a warm spinach and apple salad
followed a chilled apple soup.
The noontime event started with chillded, spiced apple cider, served
in big wine glasses. The appetizer was a simple combination of German butter cheese topped with apple-thyme
marmalade, perched on crisp toast ... placed under the broiler just long enough to melt the cheese.
