Margarita Monday
Click the picture for hot pepper recipes!
On the last Monday afternoon of our summer, before
the academic year began, several girlfriends joined me on the front porch for Margarita Monday! I got out the
giant margarita machine and made several batches of the frosty drinks! I served recipes I was testing ... all
made with hot pepper products from Darn Hot Peppers, a great pepper farm and shop in Southern Illinois!
The color scheme for this event was teal and green
... because I'd found 18 of these great margarita glasses for a buck each at Goodwill! They were promotional items and
if they'd had more, I would have bought them, too!
The three arrangements in the centerpiece were so
simple. I filled a green stemmed vase that matched the green in the glasses ... and two blue vases with glass
marbles. Then I just stuck a little greenery and sparkling lime and teal Christmas picks in the marbles.
It took five minutes to make them and about ten seconds to take them back apart!
Check out the view of the corner of the front porch!
I covered the round table with a floor length teal cloth. The really cute napkins matched the theme ... and the
coordinating mini tissue packs made perfect "take-homes" for my guests! "Some days are just not
worth the makeup!" That's the phrase on the napkin ... and I'm not sure if it means that some days we are beyond
help ... or just so beautiful that we don't need any makeup!
